As the days get shorter and weather turns colder, don’t let your emotions get the best of you. Some people get the winter blahs this time of year. For some people the holidays are a difficult time of year emotionally. There are several strategies you can use to combat these emotional lows.
One of my favorite things to do is to discuss and even write out 5 to 10 things I am thankful for in my life. I recommend you try this also. It really does help. Also, several times per week I try to send out a few thank you cards. There are times, it doesn’t seem like there is anything to send a thank you for, but I am sure you can find something. What about the beautifully manicured yard you always pass as you go to work daily? You could drop a card in the mail to that house. What about all those people that are kind to you daily? After writing a few of these cards, you will feel better.
Besides these strategies, there are also nutritional supplements that can help. Omega 3 fish oil has been shown in research to improve mental stability. NUTRILITE® OCEAN ESSENTIALS® Balanced Health Omega-3 or WELLSONA™ Brain Health Omega I posted an article on this not too long ago. Also, an herbal rhodiola, like NUTRILITE® Rhodila 110 has a great benefit that it helps with mental clarity and increases mood. Lastly, for those that have been under constant high levels of stress, magnesium can be of great benefit. This is available in two forms, a pill form from NUTRILITE® Cal Mag D or a powder that can be put into a tea is also available, and is called Calm.
