Rehab
Physical rehabilitation focuses on improving muscle flexibility, strength, mobility, and positional awareness. The result is increased balance, coordination, and improved posture. Physical rehabilitation reduces pain and dysfunction by correcting muscle imbalances and reducing muscle spasms and trigger points. To get these results we utilize a specific combination of exercises and manual therapy. Because each patient has unique problems, an individualized program is created for each patient and their unique condition.
Physical Rehabilitation requires both commitment and effort. It involves active participation of the patient in the clinic and at the home. The length of rehab varies per condition but on average consists of 6-8 weeks. Patients who participate as advised by our rehab specialist receive the most benefit from their rehabilitation program.
Our Rehab Specialist will do a consultation, reviewing client's medical histories and then test and measure the patients' strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, muscle performance, and motor functions. Then at this time the patient and our Rehab Specialist develop plans and goals describing a treatment strategy and its anticipated outcome.
We are able to do this by combining expert chiropractic care and a top notch wellness team. With the Whitacre Wellness team, you will experience the benefits of a dynamic team approach and receive a level of care which is virtually unmatched elsewhere. Your experience with pain is different than anyone else's, so your treatment must be unique as well. We incorporate an active rehab program from the start of your care, making the exercises both functional for everyday activity and easy to perform at home.
Treatment often includes exercise, especially for patients who have been immobilized or who lack flexibility, strength, or endurance. Physical Rehab Specialists encourage patients to use their muscles to increase their flexibility and range of motion. More advanced exercises focus on improving strength, balance, coordination, and endurance. The goal is to improve how an individual functions at work and at home in their daily life.
As treatment continues, our rehab specialist documents the patient's progress, conducts periodic examinations, communicates with the doctors and modifies treatment when necessary. If you are recovering from personal injury from a car accident, neck pain, back pain, headaches, sports injuries, shoulder pain, knee pain, or need assistance with nutrition and exercises we can help!
